Digital Transformation and the Information Professionals

WHEN: Friday 23rd June 2017

WHERE: Kimberlin Library, De Montfort Universtity.

Join the Multimedia, Information and Technology Group (MmIT) for lunch and an afternoon of seminar talks giving you the opportunity to explore and share with colleagues how you can deliver on digital both personally and professionally.

Digital transformation— the use of technology to radically improve the performance or reach of organisations — is a hot topic for everyone. Library and information services are using digital advances such as analytics, mobility, social media and smart embedded devices as well as improving their use of traditional technologies to meet the requirements of the digital age. The emphasis on digital has brought many challenges for our professional activities as well as a requirement for us to consider our present and future skills needs to cope with the impact of change.
